  1. Q. What is Rainbow Rewards?
    A. Rainbow Rewards is a unique rewards program that offers customers up to 33% cash back for purchases made at participating businesses using a registered credit or debit card. Our mission is to help you earn rewards and to give back to local businesses and charities. That's how we make cash back feel so good.

  2. Q. Is there a membership fee?
    A. No. Unlike many other loyalty, rebate or points programs, Rainbow Rewards does not charge a membership fee. You won't pay to join or renew.

  3. Q. How do I become a Rainbow Rewards member?
    A. You can sign up online by visiting www.RainbowRewards.com and clicking the "Join Us" link at the top of the page or you can enroll in-store at select participating merchants in the Cash Back On The Go program.

  4. Q. I am joining by phone - what are the call center hours?
    A. The call center hours are as follows:

  5. Q. What information do I need to provide to become a member?
    A. You need to provide your name, address and card number. When you enroll online, we also require that you provide an e-mail address so that we can create your personal login.

  6. Q. Why do I have to register a credit or debit card with Rainbow Rewards?
    A. We ask you to register your credit and/or debit card because it's the card already in your wallet. That means it's easy and green. We've taken every precaution to ensure the security of your personal information, and invite you to read our Security Statement and Privacy Policy on our website.

  7. Q. Do I need to use a specific type of credit or debit card?
    A. No. You may register any Visa®, MasterCard® or American Express® card. This includes debit, gift, prepaid, stored value and other types of cards that carry the Visa or MasterCard logo.

  8. Q. Will I still earn a reward if I use my debit card as an ATM card rather than as a credit card?
    A. No. The Rainbow Rewards program is designed to track credit card transactions. PIN-debit transactions, where you enter your personal identification number, are not processed as credit cards and they can't be tracked. Signature-debit transactions, where you sign a receipt, are processed as credit cards and do qualify for a reward. You may notice that many businesses don't require signatures for credit card purchases of around $25 or less. As long as you are not entering a PIN, these transactions will still qualify for a reward.

  9. Q. Can I update my registered cards?
    A. Yes, you can add or delete debit or credit cards at any time by logging into your account. Once you've logged into your account, click on the "register more cards" link. Then you'll be able to update, delete and/or add cards.

  10. Q. Why do I need to create a username and password?
    A. By creating a username and password, you can log into your account and manage your profile. Once logged in, you can:

    • Maintain your personal information (name, address, email, etc.)
    • Add or remove credit or debit cards
    • View purchases and track rewards earned, by month and year
    • Specify your redemption schedule and method (check or direct deposit)
    • Gain access to exclusive offers for members
  11. Q. Do I need to let the merchant know I'm a member of Rainbow Rewards?
    A. No. Rewards are automatically tracked as long as you are making a purchase with a registered card at a participating business.

  12. Q: What is the Cash Back On The Go program?
    A: This program is our same cash back program, but instead of enrolling on our website, members enroll in the store at checkout at exclusive participating merchants. A special terminal is required to allow our merchants to enroll members at checkout, so we are rolling out this capability as quickly as merchants are willing to adopt the new terminals. If one of our participating merchants has this new capability, they will ask you if you would like to enroll in the Cash Back On The Go program. Cash Back On The Go also offers an iPhone or Android app that only in-store enrolled members have access to. Learn more.

  13. Q: I enrolled at a store in the Cash Back On The Go program, how do I log in to your website?
    A: If you enrolled at the store and downloaded the iPhone or Android app, we sent you an email that had a temporary password to access the site. However, if you enrolled at the store and didn't download the app, we were unable to send you an email that had a temporary password to access the site.   14. Q: I am a current member. Can I get the Cash Back On The Go app for my phone?
    For the moment, Cash Back On The Go offers an iPhone or Android app that only in-store enrolled members have access to.

  15. Q. Is www.RainbowRewards.com a secure website?
    A. Yes. When you enroll or access your account information, you are communicating with secure web servers protected by GoDaddy, the largest provider of SSL certificates. We use state-of-the art encryption software (SSL) to protect all of your information before you send it to us and before we display it back to you. Additionally, all of the personal information and purchase data we collect is protected from unauthorized access using extensive security measures.

  16. Q. What merchants participate in Rainbow Rewards?
    A. A current list of businesses is always available at www.RainbowRewards.com. You can also search for merchants based on your zip code, category (i.e., apparel, sports, automotive) and/or business name.

  17. Q How can I earn cash back from Rainbow Rewards today?
    A. It's as easy as signing up, searching for your favorite merchant and making a purchase with your registered card. You can be earning cash back in minutes. Your rewards will be processed and automatically posted to your Rainbow Rewards account, normally within 10 days of your purchase.

    When shopping with our online merchants the only requirement is that you first log into our site so that we can track your purchase. Purchases made without going through our website will not qualify for rewards as we will not receive the transaction data to credit your Rainbow Rewards account. Note that to allow for returned merchandise, it is common for online retailers to take up to 35 days before posting purchases.

  18. Q. What if a reward has not posted to my Rainbow Rewards account after a reasonable amount of time?
    A. If you've not seen your reward post within 10 days (35 days if you were shopping with an online merchant) of your purchase, you should contact us by sending an email to This email address is protected from spambots by JavaScript encryption. Once we are able to validate the purchase, we will issue your reward manually.

  19. Q. Will my rewards be reflected on my receipt?
    A. No, but you can access your rewards 24/7 by logging into your account on www.RainbowRewards.com.

  20. Q. Why are some merchants listed on your site as Coming Soon?
    A. We're adding new businesses to the Rainbow Rewards community daily. If a merchant is labeled "Coming Soon," we're still in the process of getting the program set up, which can take up to 10 days. Once you see a cash back percentage listed next to a merchant's name, you can earn rewards on your purchases at that business.

  21. Q. Is there a limit on the number of times I can receive a reward from a participating business?
    A. No. The only exception is when a business is offering a special deal for your first purchase. After that first purchase, however, you still receive the everyday cash back reward every time you visit the merchant.

  22. Q. Will I continue to receive the benefits associated with my debit or credit cards such as airline miles or points?
    A. Yes. Your participation in Rainbow Rewards does not affect the benefits already associated with your credit or debit cards in any other reward programs. You will continue to earn miles, points or any other incentives included with your debit or credit card in addition to earning cash back through Rainbow Rewards.

  23. Q. What assurances do I have that my personal information will be kept private?
    A. Rainbow Rewards is as concerned as you are about protecting your personal information. Our business depends on our ability to protect your information and keep our promises to you.

    • We will not resell any information including your name to any Rainbow Rewards business or any other third party without your consent.
    • The GoDaddy seal certifies our identity and our ability to encrypt data collected during the enrollment process using SSL technology.
    • Our technology practices meet or exceed the standards set by Visa, MasterCard and others in the payment card industry for the secure handling of cardholder information.
    • We are a member in good standing of the Better Business Bureau.
  24. Q. How do I find out the size of the cash back reward being offered from each business?
    A. Participating businesses choose a cash back percentage that ranges from 2% to 33%. On our site, these percentages are displayed next to each business listing. The dollar amount of the reward is equal to your purchase amount multiplied by the cash back percentage. For example, if you made a purchase of $50 at a business with a cash back percentage of 5%, you would earn a reward of $2.50.

  25. Q. How much of my reward goes to charity?
    A. Your reward dollars are 100% yours. Rainbow Rewards gives back by donating a percentage of its profits. It's your purchases that trigger an automatic donation from Rainbow Rewards to our charity partners.

  26. Q. If I cancel my card in my profile, is it also cancelled with my financial institution?
    A. No. Cancelling your card in your profile just means that you no longer want it to earn rewards.

  27. Q. How do I opt out of the program?
    A. You can opt out by sending us an email or calling us. Please be ready to provide the last 4 digits of your registered card and your home zip code.   28. Q. How do I unsubscribe from email or snail mail?
    A. To unsubscribe from email, click on the link to opt out of receiving future mailings to your email address.   29. Q. I am a member, but I don't recall signing up. How did I become a member?
    A. Several card-issuing institutions (such as Ent and Golden1) have partnered with Rainbow Rewards to provide our loyalty program as a free benefit to its cardholders. If you are one of those cardholders, you may have been automatically enrolled. In these cases, the institutions typically distribute several notices via mail, email and/or local advertising to inform their cardholders of this new benefit. All other members have self-enrolled via our website.

  30. Q. How can my card-issuing institution enroll me without my consent?
    A. This approach is known as an "opt-out" approach because you are in the program unless you opt out. The opt-out approach is often used when customers are being given a free benefit and are not being solicited by a third party, as is the case with Rainbow Rewards. Remember, there are no membership fees in our program - it is 100% funded by the merchants who choose to participate. We will not send you any unsolicited mail or email.

  31. Q. If I opt out now, may I opt back in later?
    A. Absolutely! You can join us at any time. We're adding new businesses daily so, if you don't see your favorite merchant, let us know and we'll contact them.

  32. Q. Do I have to pay taxes on the rewards I received at the end of the year?
    A. No. Rewards are classified as rebates that are not taxable income.
